Our Nations Youth are being lead to slaughter...

Todays youth are tomorrows future! However our currently academic system is failing them!
WE ARE LITERALLY LEADING OUT NATIONS YOUTH TO A SLAUGHTER!

Multiple issues have caused this.  Children today in America are no where near the level of education of other countries. We have become a society of lets make more noise about a christian praying over lunch or a Muslim wearing her hijab at school. Then actually caring about environment that fosters academic success. 

Look at the 30 somethings of today. They can fix technology, they can think for them selves. They tend to be a generation more able to excel in english and science over math. Look at the 50 somethings right now. You have Men and Women who use logic, process issues in a rational order, are able to prioritize and solve problems on their own. 

To often I have seen 16-25 year olds who cant count change, have no idea how to read directions on a box, assemble the simplest thing. 

How have we allowed this to happen?

Keep in mind we have wonderful teachers who spend closer to 80hrs a week between training, grading, and teaching who also spend out of their own pockets to instruct our nations youth. That are barely making enough to live. Many teachers are taking second jobs, if not third ones. Those married and with kids are having to juggle being a parent, spouse and teacher. More teachers are getting divorced now then in years prior. The pressure to continue to master test has teachers teaching memorizing habits vs actually teaching and encouraging youth to learn problem solving skills. 

The teachers who cant balance it all out, end up leaving to other careers just to survive. 

Now the various districts are replacing substitutes who work directly for the school boards, with temp services employees. The temps are often not a good match for the subject matter. The rules are lackadaisical and in-conducive to actually having a successful  academic youth. The focus needs to be on the preparing our Nations youth to think for them selves. Use logic and problem solving skills, to handle issues they encounter. We cant prepare anyone for everything but educating them on how to locate answers and solve issues on their own has to be more important then learning a
Pythagorean theorem. If they have problem solving skills they will learn that the Pythagorean theorem is the process in which you  use the length of a hypotenuse triangle in order to find the squares of all the length. 

Every day our students learn mindless facts in order to pass test they will never use again. yet they cant balance a check book , fill out their own I9 forms, college applications, or give change back at a register. This is an issue wake up to facts.

After Tropical Storm :Colin:
Student 1: Oh my God why cant we have rain days. Colorado gets snow days, but in florida we cant have rain days. Why?
Student 2: yeah man that would be great no school yesterday


Me. Silently thinking that these kids have no clue. Yesterday was Sunday and we live in a tropical state.


next case: After Colin had passed
Student 1: why does It keep raining we are under flood warnings. I am glad we are on the second floor.
me. I think we are okay we are not in a flood plane.
Student 1: According to this news thing from like the news it says polk county is under flood warning and warning means its gonna happen.
me. We are not in a flood plane I think its gonna be okay.
Student 1: yeah because we are on the second floor.

America has been dropping the ball a lot when it comes to educating our youth. I see it on a regular basis as a substitute teacher. I am by nature an observant individual. So I hear things the kids say I see what they are reading and doing and in this blog I will highlight these moments.
